Default Glaring difference...

Whoa...
I just got back into my Explorer after a few days of driving the Red Witch. I was sitting in my Porsche.
Now, in my Explorer, it feels like I am sitting ON my Porsche...

I call that the stagecoach effect...

I get the same thing when I go back to my Tahoe. Usually, it's most evident when I'm on a cloverleaf, lol.

Oh yeah...
In the Red Witch, I am down low. Slinky and fast, corners on rails.
In my Explorer, I am high and mighty. Towering above all others. Don't ask about cornering...

Had an Explorer at the time my 928 came to roost. Shadow on the floor is amazingly similar, but otherwise waste no time comparing. The 928 takes clubs and weekend luggage, while the Explorer did much better with towing and carrying people with skis. Each has a purpose, commonality limited to the two front seats.

I agree, dr bob. My Explorer and the Red Witch both serve very different purposes. However...they do have 5.0L V-8's.

I've got an 02 Tahoe and it's the exact same

It feels like I'm on top of a mountain...a wallowing, piggish mountain...

then I get back in the 928 looking at everybody's door handles and all is right with the world again!

I also had a 928 and a Ford Explorer sharing a garage from 1992-2015 (two different 928's and 3 different Explorers). Two entirely different cars used for different purposes. I have only good things to say about my Explorers

zaevor2000: Well said!

Big Easy Sharkster: I agree. I love the hell out of my 5.0L AWD Explorer, and am besotted with the Red Witch. They each serve their own purpose. Don't want to give up either one.

Thanks!

Side by side comparison, LOL

Actually...when I drive by SUVs I'm looking UP at their door handles

LOL. Great thread.

My Ninja Supermodel wife has a Q7.
I use it exclusively to take 928 parts to and from the machine shop.

A very important vehicle ! ! !

If you believe an Explorer is useful in its own way go buy a Cayenne.......seriously good fun and practical.
