So i got some great news from my local Porsche Dealership in Rotterdam last week. My car is original. The engine and drivetrain, the color and the "nadelstreifen schwarz" seats. Its al there. It does not have a lot of options: - 058 - 197 - 568 - 573 I was wondering if anybody knows:
- If there is a way of getting clear what the tone of the windows were? Was it possible to have only the front and side windows tinted (thats what is says, in option 568 )
- I have the side strips on the car now. Is that original? I thought it would be an option. So mayby a previous owner added them for a more "modern" look?

What model year it is? Side strips didn't appear until few years after production started.
058 Bumpers with impact absorbers
197 88 Ah battery
568 Tinted windshield and side glass
573 AC

Could also have been a dealer added option. Dealers had pretty wide leeway to make changes to the cars to make them more desirable for a local market, especially exterior things, for example all the chromed wheels. If that's the case, wouldn't show up on the options list.

My 928 is a victim of added rub strips.
I'm replacing the fenders and doors to get rid of them. Along with the poorly hidden accident damage, which is why they were probably added...
Hopefully they were just stuck on with adhesive and not drilled into the body like they were in the factory.

Best way to find out is CoA. M418 Protective side mouldings definitely was not available in early '78 cars but late '79 they could have been for new cars.
