Default 928 banned by City of Rotterdam

So thats it. It's official, my 928 can't move for 3 years (untill it becomes 40) because the enviremental zone got official since the first of may. Hopefully not a trend to be followed in the rest of the world..

Menheer,

That is what you get for living in Rottendam!

Does that mean Meneer Ad is buggered as well or is it just the city centre? I think Menheeer Theo is more in the south of the country.

Tot ziens

Fred

It is the biggest part of the city. I think Ad is living near the city. Utrecht is banning older diesel cars already, Amsterdam will follow...
It doesn't help the enviroment they already know that, but thats politics.

Yeah, don't know! I love my city but this thing is crazy. Rotterdam is one of the biggest ports in the world and has a very big petrol chemical plant next to the city, they have been building a lot of parking spaces inside the city and welcome cruiseships on a daily basis. But the few hundred classic car lovers are the one to blame mind you, i travel by bicycle to my dayjob in the city

Perhaps you can lobby for a classic car exemption- maybe use at weekends type of thing?

What they should be trying to do is eliminate the cheapo ghetto bangers from the roads- knackered old Fords and Opels etc. Qualification based on [limited] build numbers or of examples still running. You need to get the automobile and classic car clubs mobilised.

On the positive side it also means no 911's pre-1992 so it is not all gloom!

Rgds

You should move up to Lapland in the far north of Sweden. Up there the number of trees is sufficient to fully absorb all your emissions. The driving season is short making your car last many more years. During summertime the sun never set so you can be out driving at any hours. There are no people around complaining if the car is loud. The closest police station is more than 200 km away minimizing the risk for getting caught speeding. The only drawback is the huge number of mosquitoes which reduces visibility down the road.
I am not living there.

Having scientists set policy won't happen because they're too shy to be effective campaigners.

Politicians will continue to make symbolic gestures as long as it's effective with their most rabid supporters and dinner party hosts.

It's all about image. When some libtard hack sees an old car on the streets, they've been Pavloved to instantly think --> POLLUTER!!! The oil and coal businesses aren't in the middle of town, and they don't get the attention that an old car does driving around the public roads like they were taxpaying, street supporting members of society. They - are - POLLUTERS!!! With the finger outstretched and veins a-popping on their forehead.

I just hope the UK votes to leave Europe in June, because this and many more regulations are being spewed out by Brussels . Obama came here recently trying to co-erce the UK population that it was better to stay in the EU. ! It only made people more determined not to, when he said that !
