Default 87 S4 Auto transmission O ring

I am Back...
Search is not my friend tonight..

Changing out tranny filter fluid etc..

There is a white o ring in the plastic nut that goes to the metal tube out the back side of the pan..

Mine only has 1 O ring.
PET from Auto Atlanta and others list the part number as 477321487 and calls out that 2 are required but not shown in diagram.

Cant find a reference in WSW.

So, Does it really get 2 O rings stacked up?

Pricey little suckers too.

Thanks..

So far tonight..
* tensioner filled
* Compressor installed
* alternator installed
* P/S lines connected to pump and belts tensioned
* Started harness connections...(home made harness fits perfect!!)
* Tranny drained and pan cleaned
* Tie Rod ends torqued
* Made new secondary block ground

Sorry for the long post..it has been a while since I made some good head way..

When I ordered the O-ring from Roger he sent me one, and there was only one original to replace. I recommend replacing the O-ring for the Bowden cable. Twist out the yellow fitting and replace the O-ring. Mine was leaking. When I removed the pan I found it hanging on the lever the cable attaches to. The O-ring apparently flattened, hardened, and shrank enough to slip down onto the lever. Not a difficult job and will prevent a common leak. There's a bit of fiddling to get the cable reattached. Using a small mirror on a stick working it by feel it didn't take long to reattach.

Hmmmm...I just got a shipment of parts, most of which are to service the A28.07 in the Red Witch.

I ordered a new reservoir and sealing O-ring, item number 41, part number 477321487. The O-rings I received are blue.

I will include a photo.

Here is what I received:

Note: I ordered 2 so that I would have a spare.

You are correct Sir - was white and now blue - did not know Porsche changed the color or when.

I guess that is there way of making up for the blue hose now being black - blue does matter 8>)

Roger I'm looking for this o ring and also believe there's another that seals the Bowden cable, but I don't see it in the PET. Do you know that one and do you stock it?

Wow, that was quick. I called and left a message on your machine, I need the part for an '85 and also the filler cap ring. I hope this will be the end of leaking transmissions...
