Well since the original conception of the 928 was during the seventies, I still play stuff by Redbone, and on the original Blaupunkt Melbourne radio cassette player, here's a track for those not familiar with them..,

I worked with a guy who thought the funniest thing ever was singing "Take it easy" with a lisp... :/

Oh man, good call!

So I'm in 1987: Back in the day I would be stopped in the street because I looked like Dave Gahan, and I didn't even own a pirate shirt!!

Redbone - Come and Get Your Love [Music Video] (HD Audio) - YouTube
THANK YOU!!!

I have never seen a video of them singing it, but have LOVED this song ever since it came out in 74 and I used to sing it when it came on the radio thinking about the cutest girl in our class.

Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories!!!

Okay, I can't beat Depeche Mode for 86.

I can, however, put a band in the running for 78/79:
Lower budget then Zepplin. Definitely worse teeth and hygine, but man what a bare knuckle, edgy and visceral sound. Great to drive...fast.
Maybe our brothers from down under can tell us more. Bon Scott was a born showman.

And a solid entry from 1987:

(just joking...I grant any of you permission to take my keys if this is playing out of my car at an event, or anywhere really).

Your most welcome Frank, glad to help out

Here's another variation of the same song.

Great choices so far, especially all the New Order and Depeche Mode selections.

For me, it's hands down, "Friday I'm In Love", by the Cure. It reminds of driving to and from school during my senior year in high school. Having a blast in my '87 Acura Integra Special Edition. Oh, how I missed that car.
