This is normal if the car was just on a lift and lowered without being driven - suspension hasn’t “settled” yet.

Saw the car in person. California car transported to Philly to be sold "by a friend". Took plenty of pics but not worth driving it. Really, really poor paint job, with deep scratches everywhere, poor overspray on the undercarriage. Tachometer doesn't work, nor AC. Plenty of small cracks on the dash vents and some on the pod. Original aluminum ball joints and plenty of corrosion/rusts on the suspension parts. Rear hatch trim pieces are coming apart. Hood pad is coming down in pieces onto the engine. Evidence of oil leaking onto the alternator wiring then onto the ground where the car's been sitting for who knows how long.

Surprisingly ok leather seats despite the rest of the car's condition.

Told the dealer that I am interested but not at the asking price due to the above, and I got the reply, "The price is very firm", then 15 min later, "The car actually has been sold". Don't believe it for a second. Bet is still sitting out there being beaten by the weather throughout time here in Philly suburbs.

BTW, no service records that the dealer knows of.

Interesting. I saw what I swear was the same car on CL about a year or so ago for sale by the original owner - a doctor in Philly. I’ll see if I can find pics, but it looked identical down to the black rubstrips. I spoke to the owner over the phone who told me he bought it new in ‘78 and could no longer drive it. Interesting that they say it came from CA.

i assume that the car’s from California due to the condition of the muffler (surprisingly rust free) and California plates. The add on rear spoiler and painted black rub strips are hideous on the car.

Found some pics of the car I called about. This was about two years ago. Car had a PA tag and inspection sticker. Looks like the same one to me.

Yep looks like the same car. Wondering why they have a California plate on it. By the way, how much was he asking 2 years ago?

Because a Cali car is more desirable than a car that's spent it's whole life in Philly, shady used car dealer tactics. I'd bet there is no registration to go with that CA plate.

Alot of money for doors without speaker grills/speakers. No fuel rail covers. Incorrect intake color (and not in a good way). Although it is an '89 with sports seats! Whoever buys this, I have a set of correct GT club sport wheels to go with it! ($$$)

A lot of money for questionable options.
