That is a nice find Alex, and I agree, an excellent platform at a very reasonable price for a restoration. That car will be quite valuable at some point in the not too distant future.
I have to say at the moment I'm a bit contrarian. The early automatic cars have been dogged on for so many years (with the exception of Roger) that they are the last remaining "cheap" 78-79's. However, there are several folks figuring out how to retrofit 6 spd automatics. Combine that with the dearth of manual parts and the automatic cars in rare colors may be the 'dark horse' pick. Buy them when you can!
Wow saw this go through for $29,700 earlier today. Billed as original paint, it wasn't. (tapelines and runs yes RUNS in the paint) A clean car though with what looked to be a nice original interior. Pretty clean engine bay. An above average driver. As a reference, most of the 928s at Hershey were nicer than this car.
This is an important auction event. A mid year OB USA car, automatic, in not a particularly exciting color combination, bringing north of $32K with buyer premium. ...all on the same day as Brexit market mayhem!
I'm not one for "atta boys" but I really appreciate Tony's 928 For Sale thread. Its the thread that I always look at first. It can't be an effortless undertaking for him and I want him to know that it is not a thankless one either.
Tony, thankyou, Rod
Thanks Rod and good luck on your GT search. This 86.5 auto was loved. Two owner car and bonus-interior in excellent condtion. Someone here should have a look at this one. T http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-928-...m=371668761036
The latest 928 on BaT. Another red example over there. This one looks a lot better than the last couple they had for sale. And it's a manual. Anyone think it'll get more than $20K?

Hard to say with those miles. Decent shape and good records though. Will be interesting to see how it goes. I am going to guess below 20k; but who knows?! The market is higher every time I look it seems. I hope it sells above. That's a really nice driver.

When I was initially looking for a 928 I was convinced I wanted to spend a premium on a car with less than 50K on the clock to insure it was well sorted. But the more I researched I realized it was more often the opposite that was true. At 111K miles I feel this car is in the sweet spot for mileage and when combined with its maintenance history it looks ideal for being a reliable driver.

Manual S4 with LSD and sports seats with fairly extensive records? Should be above $20k. Unless someone wants a GT likely without sports seats (rare) above $30k.
seems there are some nice examples out there lately........
