Default Porsche Dealer 100 point inspection question

Happy Sunday!

Looking to get a PPI in the northern Florida area, and unfortunately not a lot of options, so going with the local Porsche dealer (They have like a 100 point inspection for a few hundred dollars).

I am guessing their tech is not going to be a 928 specialist, so my question to this group - What would you specifically call out to their tech to make sure they cover (as it pertains to a 1985 AT 928)?

Some examples from Pete (thanks!)

Rust around the rear hatch
Rust in the battery bucket

HUGE thanks in advance!

Rust an issue on any car but most times cosmetic and can be fixed relatively cheaply. I would be more concerned about condition of:

Timing belt
Fuel lines
Flex plate (if auto)

Timing belt or flex plate (thrust bearing) failure can render the engine a coffee table quickly. A failed fuel line and it's car-b-que time.

car-b-que is pretty catchy!

Thanks for the input, I will add to the list.

Is flex plate a concern pre-87? (guide mentioned it was a unique problem to 87+)

My guide will only be half-useful on a pre-S4.

Flex-plate/driveshaft/trust bearing failure is not a common issue on AT pre-S4.

You really want to find someone who knows 928s to do the PPI. Money you spend at a Porsche dealer will be a waste unless they have one old about-to-retire tech who worked on 928s 20 years ago.

Start a new thread with a targeted title that indicates that you're looking for a PPI in northern FL. Or change the title of this one.

Thanks, Dave. I put a thread up last week that was specific to Gainesville, FL. Unfortunately it seems to be a void zone for 928

Cheers!
