I just replaced the bearings in the throttle body. I messed up a bearing trying to put it in so I had to use another one.
My throttle plate will no longer fit in the opening.
Is it possible that I deformed the opening so it is no longer circular?
I am at a loss as to why the throttle plate no longer fits. It came out fine.
Thanks
John
It definitely doesn't fit. Is it possible I deformed the opening putting the bearings in? You would think that would take some heavy duty force!
Should I file down the edges slightly? Will that allow too much air to sneak by at idle?

Measure the bore, if it isn't round any longer, you need a new (different) one.
when you put the bearings in did you freeze them and use heat on the housing?
This method works well to reduce the insertion forces.
From the looks of things the bore is out of round.
