I would sell them. Oh well. It looks like it worked out for you after all. I personally like the look of the new seats versus old.
I didn't think to put a wanted thread on here. I would have snapped up your seats for sure but there may have been a problem in the logistics of shipping a set of seats across the country. The ones I found were 20 minutes away. I think you'll be able to sell them on ebay for strong money. Early seats in good condition don't appear to surface that often.

I have a decent set of black leather early seats from my '79. Leather needs a little TLC (conditioning) but no rips or tears. They are the full power versions with 3 rectangular switches on both seats. The driver's side elevator motor does not work (seat is all the way down currently), but other than that, all motors work.

For anyone looking to update the look of their interior, I also have a set of the later GT/GTS seats also in black leather. These have the 3 round switches on each seat and everything works.

Both are listed in The Marketplace if you want more pics and details, but here are a couple of each pair.

I did a search for '928 seats' in the marketplace but I couldn't find them. How much are you selling your seats for?

Cool, thanks. Strange, when I do a parts search for '928 seats' (all categories, location, condition), your seats are not in the search results.

To add some details to this thread, I'm in the process of installing later model 12-way memory seat in my 84. The 12 way memory seats have a 13-pin connector that I was afraid needed a power source to multiple pins get the seats to work. Luckily, all you need to do is attach positive and negative from the OEM harness by making a similar adapter harness. Granted, the memory function does not work, but I wouldn't even know where or how to wire that into a car that never had memory seats.
