This was my first 928... 86.5 Grand Prix White, 5 Speed, two tone interior, with RH 3 Part Wheels. She was AWESOME and I freaking SOLD it like a super dumb ***!!! I'm now on my third 928, with an 84 Euro and she's sharp, but my first baby was sooooooo nice... Still miss it. She had only 43K miles when I bought her. 83K miles when I sold her...

My Dad's 1985 928S Meteor Gray/Burgundy
Sport seats
Porsche labeled K40 radar integrated into the console.
I really need the help of this board to find the car. We sold it in 1995 to get an SUV. I grew up in the back of this car.
The last time I saw it was at Performance Porsche in San Diego back in 2007. I would love to know if the car is still in the same city and it is for sale.
Please keep an eye out if you are in SD. License plate starts with 3CPR and it is my first love, which drove me into 928 fascination.
The car has chrome flat dishes and looms EXACTLY like the one below..

let me add that this car is in an enclosed trailer
would love to but along with Eric and presume Jim (Jadz) we promised Alex not to publish
Not all 928'ers Here's a hint: Jim Bailey said that he has never seen a 928 (and he's seen a lot of 928's) with original interior of this type. Does that help T

About 18 years ago, there was a 1978 five speed for sale near me.
It had that light pinkish-orange, flesh tone type color (coral? peach?).
At first, I thought the color was strange, but I came around to liking it.
It also had the pasha interior which I wasn't overly fond of at the time.
But it was like #106 or somewhere around there in the overall sequence.
Even back then, I recognized that could be a cool early car to have.
The seller was firm at a fairly high listing price, so it wasn't a great deal.
The car really grew on me, but while I was still contemplating, it sold.
I've always regretted not taking quicker action on that one...

still haunts me....sort of
This true story happened back in college in the late 90’s. I had wanted a VW Bus for a long time and told a friend at a party. He told me he knew an older Japanese man with a VW that had not run in a long time, but might be for sale. So with the address in hand, I hoped on the bus for the other side of the island. When I found the house, the elderly gentleman opened the door and I asked him about the VW. He said the car was a gift to his wife and she had died from cancer after he gave it to her. He had parked the car in the garage and not touched it for 30 years. I asked to take a look and when he opened the door there was a perfect ’66 912. Irish green, completely original, wood steering wheel, Blaupunkt, etc… Rust in the rocker panels, but otherwise perfect. I asked how much for the car and he stated $800. I asked if it ran and he stated it did when he parked it 30 years ago. Long story short, we charged the battery, ran a fuel line into a 5gal gas can I put in the back seat, and started the motor. The brakes were frozen so the front wheels wouldn’t turn, but I backed the car up about 6 feet and then forward into the garage. I told the man I would go to the bank the next day and get the money for the car and return. When I got home from school the next day I was giddy. I was not only going to have a car (no more biking to school and work) but a kick butt Porsche! I went to the bank and withdrew the money (almost all my savings) and went home to change my clothes. I saw the light blinking on the answering machine and pressed ‘message’. It was the gentleman that owned the car. He said his neighbor had witnessed me backing the car out of the garage and offered him more money. I quickly called and told him $800 was all I had and I was getting ready to get on the bus. He politely told me the car would be sold to his neighbor for $1200.
Epilogue: I was bummed about this for years as I would see the car on the island from time to time. Now those cars are going for stupid numbers and I am more pi$$ed.
