Default Enjoy

I'm glad to see that the GTS has made it to her new home where she will be well cared for.

To all our 928 friends, yes we're still around.

I guess time has come to change my sig!

"Transparency" would mean correcting the illusion it was a new engine....or at least that is what most people I deal with would do.

Pretty d@mn easy to correct post #5, right in the very beginning....and #14 a bit later on.

I certainly would have. I know Mary Anderson would have. I know Joseph would have. There were five to six other 928 people present when the box got opened that would have.

Coming out and telling a direct lie or letting an obvious incorrect statement stand uncorrected are very close to the same thing, in my opinion.

It looks like one person bought the car and another bought the motor? Why would someone spend thousands of dollars on the motor without clarifying the original post?

Not hard to pick the democrats out of the crowd....they trust leaders that use tricks and illusions and think those actions are completely normal.

One person bought the whole package....and I'm certainly not speaking for him.

I'm not speaking for anyone, just expressing my opinion.

And in my opinion, when a dozen people are present waiting to see a brand new GTS engine when a crate is opened, and it's a cleaned up used unknown engine, something really strange just occurred.....

I'm certain the engine number will be throughly "run" and researched and the history will eventually be known.

Although I am not in the market, following this thread I certainly thought it was a new engine. I would like to hear Herman's response as to why he did not correct this illusion.

I know hindsight is 20/20 but the picture of the engine in the original post shows all the peripherals attached. New engines don't come with all that. It would just be the short block. Right? It clearly looks to be an engine removed from a used car. I'm sorry but I think this complaining is silly unless Herman told the buyer it was a new engine.

Having bought and sold many "new" engines , they all came with all the accessories

Really?

You (and apparently a dozen other people) didn't read the very first post for its content (clearly says spare) and now you have the audacity to blame the OP for not correcting *others* misinterpretations of his very clear initial post?

You're now questioning the OP's character as a result of your reading comprehension? And...how is the OP supposed to know what illusions you've created in your mind exactly? And then to bring politics into it? Jeez...

Sorry GregBBRD, but, you're in the wrong here. You've dug a fairly deep hole at this point, best to apologize and let this one go.

Ad says spare motor, and looking at the three pdf files on the original post of this ad, the pics CLEARLY show this engine isn't brand new. So it was believed it was brand new because a couple of Rennlisters that are not the owners use the term "brand new" in their posts? Herman maybe didn't notice the wording of these posts and never knew to correct it. Herman didn't mislead anyone and this shouldn't be discussed in this way, in my opinion.

Apologize that I have an opinion?

Unless things have radically changed in this country, I believe I have the right to my own opinion....just like you do.

And I personally feel that allowing incorrect assumptions to stand was misleading, in this thread.

And I stated that I (and most everyone I know) would have taken the few moments required to correct any incorrect assumptions....just for the benefit of being totally "transparent".

You want to take a survey of the people who posted on this thread and see who else thought it was a new engine?

That's my point....and my opinion. Nothing else said or intended.
