Not really it's more like this.
Engine is idling perfectly. I put it into 1st and press the pedal. I take my foot off the gas and the idle stays exactly the same, it never drops down when I take my foot off of the accelerator. If I put it in neutral the engine still revs at that very same point. In order to get the engine to idle I have to take it out of gear and "kick" the accelertor quickly. Then it returns to idle. Seems like a stuck cable?

OK sometimes the cable (twisted small wires) gets worn and frays where it passes into the engine bay and those loose wires get caught.... You can see the throttle body where the butterfly is located and the end of the cable attaches to the lever which opens and closes the throttle by looking under the big intake plenum on the drivers side... You can then see if it is being held open by moving the lever with your hand.

Now that my 928 is actually running I am looking to cleaan her up a bit. I am missing 3 of the interior light bars. They are almost $100 each on eBay.
Any ideas on where to find better deals on the interior lights?
Thanks

Talk to Roger at 928sRus for the replacement VW units that should be a a direct fit.

My 82 928 Project Car was missing the Lower Front Chin Spoiler so I purchased an aftermarket one, but it did not come with the fastening hardware.
Any ideas where I can buy the hardware kit needed to attach the front lower chin spoiler?
As always, thank you for your replies!

I have never used this kit but will go out on a limb and guess this is what you need:

You'll want to refer to a Workshop Manual (WSM) to install the chin spoiler. Also, a copy of the PET on CD to see which bolts / nuts / screws go where... very handy because it has exploded views of parts & accessories.
This is especially important if you have an 928"S". It's not JUST the chin spoiler, but other items it mounts with and on... Not quite as simple as just slapping it under the front. My "S" chin spoiler had to be fitted on to the brake cooling tubes, screwed into the center grill section, and various fender & other mounting bolts & screws need to come off as these are also used to hold the chin spoiler in place. It has a lot of connections because at speed it's redirecting air... "I'm just a cook" and not a mechanic so you don't have to be a good wrench to do this, but following the directions will certainly help with the frustration factor...

So at long last and after 4 months (and about $7K) my 928 project car is finally running great, registered and yesterday it passed the MA safety inspection!
Now on the the exterior. I recently ordered and received a new OEM Front Chin Spoiler and faster kit. Unfortunately neither came with instructions. I emailed the seller (928 international) and unfortunately Tom was unable to find instructions anywhere.
Does anyone out the have the instructions for the installation of a front chin spoiler on an 82 928 Base?
As always thanks so much for your very helpful replies!

I am going to have all 4 shocks done on my 928 and I want to do it right, so I'd like your opinion. I've read a lot about Bilstien and Sachs. They both seem to be OEM. Are there other brands that I should consider as well?
Since the 928 was Porsche's Grand Touring car I would like a nice ride. Not overly stiff and harsh and certainly not overly soft and boat like.
As always I truly appreciate your thoughts and suggestions!
