Are they "sided" ? Is the left one the same as the right one ? If they are the same, I think an ideal material choice would not be fiberglass, but polycarbonite or lexan. Tony, something as thick as one of your R/C bodies could be vacuum-formed over an actual bumperette. It could be painted on the inside (be less likely to get scratched, easier to make it look good) and with a really good fit (which the vacuum-forming would pretty much gaurantee), you would only need some minor adhesive to attach.

The rear rubber bumper guards are not the same side to side . Several years ago I made two lightweight fiberglass bumpers guards for Mark Anderson's race car . I simply made a mold using the rubber bumper as a plug .

This is another i want to work on.
Having the kickdown switch wired into my Jager shift handle. Small button or trigger on the front. That would be slick IMHO.
