Default Upper Control Arm Question

1985 928 I removed the upper control arm and pretty much everything else during a motor mount change. Cleaned everything up and replaced rubber where necessary and I'm ready to reinstall. Can't recall if the large washer goes on the front bolt or the rear bolt. I'm thinking front bolt as the rear bolt has the support for the cross member on it. Diagram in WSM is unclear, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Correct, washer on the front bolt. If you happen to have the UCA washer handy, do you have its dimensions in mm? I'm currently looking at a pile of M14 washers, not sure which two belong to the front upper control arm studs.....

I've found the parts catalog to be useful supplement to the WSM in showing the sequence of various washers, fasteners and bushings of the car's sub-assemblies. I usually print the pages from the .pdf of the areas that I'm working on and consult those along with the workshop manuals.

Rob

I get 29 mm outside diameter. 14mm inside diameter. Thickness is 4 mm.

Are u the guy I remember reading about that sent every thing out for replating and they took all the tags off the individual items and sent him back a pail of unlabeled replayed parts? I'm just starting reassembled. So if u need any other measurements yell quickly.

Finally I took Kevin advise and looked at PET. Looks like washer is behind support arm for cross member on rear not front mounting bolt

My digital gauge is out of battery so each of those maybe off by a mm on the positive. For example it's well past 14 mm. But I cannot see the 15 mm mark on the gauge when taking the reading the old fashion way

Hi John- Thanks for the measurements! Yes, that was me with the plating- The first time I got back a pile of unsorted parts it was an engine's worth. This time it's a whole car and it occurred to me I didn't have measurements on the UCA washer. Thanks again.
