'nother gratuitous pic

Order a spare fuel pump and keep it with you along with tools. Ball joints are "must check" and a "must do at some point" but if they are tight make sure avoid low speed full lock turns, especially over bumps (like when pulling into a parking lot) as that maneuver stresses the ball joint and has caused the "majority" of failures. "At speed" failures are rare if you ball joints are checked to be tight. Carry extra fuses and relays that keep car running (fuel pump, etc.) - note that from the chart many of the relays are interchangeable so if you get stuck swap 'em out. Make a copy of the fuse/relay chart and keep in car with you.

not necessarily true on the 78. Fuel pump is not a 5/3 relay, and horn won't work as a substitute for it.

True - I didn't make that too clear - what I meant was make sure you have spares for EVERYTHING that's important, just that SOME of the relays are interchangeable..

Hate to say it but likely my truck...may bring my minerva seats for Bob Budd to pick up there...also my back has been exceedingly bad (fractured through my old fusion and tore the capsule off one of my facet joints in the upper spine) so even though 928 is comfortable still may take truck...if things are better and I'm not taking setas either the 1980 Euro or the Weissach is likely.

SOLD

If anyone is interested this coming weekend at the Swap meet, I have a set of Cup I's which are off the car now, I had bought a set of 18" Carrera IIIs and had new Hankook V12s on them back in early 2014.

The Cup 1's are Mille Miglia reps, and they have a brand new set of Hankook V12s which I bought and had installed in July 2013 that now have less than 2000 miles on them, Date coded 3212 fronts and 2412 rears.

Cup I's are 7 1/2 ET 52 and 9 ET 47. I ran these for about 13 years on my 89 S4. Tires are 225/45/17 and 255/40/17.

Very clean and road force balanced. Pix at:

$750 wheels/tires and I deliver to Hershey.

PM me if interested, thanks.

Ed, Rick: Well... nothing like a trip across PA to test the new timing belt, tensioner, water pump and oil pump installation! I'm gonna take the shark to Philly this week for a work meeting. And, if everything goes well (knock on plastic computer case), I'll be stopping in at Hershey on Friday. What's the name of that hotel... the Wild 928er Rose? Keep an eye out for a platinum-gold shark with a boom box that rivals most home audio stereo systems... Hope to see you guys there!

Pete (El Greco) and I will be leaving Long Island Friday morning at 9AM heading down to meet with Mike Frye in lower NJ around 11AM and then heading West. We should be to the hotel around 3PM. If anyone wants to meet us along the way and caravan let me know so we can make arrangements.
Also, anyone need a set of the cast 85 exhaust manifolds (for free)? If so let me know and I'll bring them with me.
