That is exactly how my Cup I chrome wheels were plated, which came with the car when we bought it. I sold those off to another lister I remember.

Nope. On aluminum it will likely be copper then nickel then Chrome; or it might even start with zinc, then copper then nickel then chrome. There is actually very very little chrome on them.
