Nope. 2 degrees advance to get a little bit more low-end. It really helped the car since the tires now break completely loose from around 3500-4000 RPM as it struggles for traction towards redline.

Andy, I am seeing things I should not be seeing, for an '87, in that picture of your pass-side timing gear.

Where's the steel disk for the hall sensor? It should be visible through the holes in the cam gear.

i did the same and the only difference i could see or feel was on the dyno when i lost 20ftlbs of torque peak, but gained about 10hp peak.
in the end, the average HP was better from 4500rpm to 6600rpm.

you can feel the difference? that would be one sensitive butt dyno!
