Yes. You need the wiring harness of course and the LH and EZK ECUs. Some others on here may chime in to provide additional needed parts.

I also was thinking of using the 86 intake on the 89 if it would fit.

The intake ports are a totally different shape and there will be interference to the rear knock sensor....
It is doable, but you will see no gains.
The 85/86 air box and tubes are as rare as hens teeth as well.....

It will bolt right in.

Plan on spending an extra few days figuring out the wiring changes required.

Everything works with everything if you're determined enough.

So your question is: how do I get my car going after thrust bearing failure?

Lots of ways to go about this. What's your wrenching aptitude and budget? My first suggestion is to get a short bock (block w/pistons and crank) as that addresses the damaged block and adds a crank and assembled pistons/rods.

The interesting part is what you want to do for needed maintenance, preventative maintenance and improvements.

I can do all kinds of repairs . I'm just painfullylow on funds .I had just removed the torque tube and trans and that was a big hit money wise on parts.I just hate to see the car just sit. I also had strippedthe paint down to factory color. Rob

I found what I think is a good deal. 1600.00 for a engine trans,tt,and the computers. Most want that for just the engine, and it includes shipping.

What year motor? Is it from an auto car? If so, an endplay for the crankshaft should be checked for any thrust bearing anomalies.
