The rear springs are adjusted all the way to the top and I need to move them 20 mm higher. Can I slip a biscut under the springs when I install the new shocks to allow additional height?

Just a shot in the dark, but are you sure you springs aren't worn/sagging? Seems like a good time to replace them if you're doing the shocks.
Those tires look a little worn in the middle...over-inflated?

When you have them off, take a look at the adjustment. They look to me like there might be some adjustment left. Also, you'll get more lift on the car than the change at the nut. That is, if you think you need 1/2 inch, then set the collar up 3/8th with the shock off.

Jimbo,
Probably the best thing to do, is post the ride measurement you have now. Secondly replace your shocks. Your choice of shocks is dependent on what style of driving you intend to do with your shark. I have been a passenger in Rob Budds shark after he replaced the springs and shocks with new springs and black Boges. Rob wanted a smooth soft ride for everyday driving. The ride was sooooo smooth.
Just choose what shocks will accommodate your expectations. Maybe call one of the Big Three for their input.
After replacing your shocks, reset your ride height. Also where you measure your ride height does make a difference as well. See Nichol's site for further info.
I think this will cure your dilemma.

Front shocks are a lot of work. A good time to do the upper balljoints. Repack them and put on new boots. Maybe sway bar bushings. (poly?) Then there's lower ball joints and tie rod ends. Changing those will mean an alignment. You might need one anyways if you alter the ride height.
I'd plan to free-up and lude (anti-sieze) the adjusters, if you have them.
You don't necessarily need to change the springs. They are not really a wear item.
