Ha! I had a similar take. Being one of the unwashed masses, I've never actually heard one fire up. I was like...meh.
Cool concept overall, I assume the older gentlemen were engineers. Can anybody translate the anecdote?

I was disappointed as well, I thought it sounded Japanese. Serious hit to the lust based solely on things I've read.
I too would be interested in a translation. To my ear the 928 was the clear winner, but I have a very biased ear.
