Default 87' Auto Rear TT bolts Help

Do I need to drop the entire exhaust to install new rear torque tub bolts?

Yes, lots of stuff has to come out if you are removing TT, not sure you are from the post.

Must removes are:

Heat shields,
Exhaust system,
Rear suspension(Calibers need to be hung),
Transmission although I think it can be down without removing

You should probably replace transmission mounts and torque converter carrier bearing WYAIT.

All true.
By seeing your other post regarding removal of the rear clamp, I would imagine this is the reason for asking about the torque tube bolt removal. In order to accomplish that, you would have to slide the transmission back, and off. It is for this reason you would have to undertake doing all the above.

Are you you referring to the whole torque tube, or just replacing the rear pinch bolt? The pinch bolt can be changed through the inspection hole at the rear of the torque tube. At least on an auto - not sure how M/T cars are set up. The muffler heat shields need to be moved out of the way first.

jb,
At the rear end of the torque tube housing there will be a hole. Need to remove the heat shields to see it. If I remember correctly you may have to get the exhaust cleared too. If you have yet seen the rear clamp and bolt, what is causing you to want to replace it ? Though I think this is the hole at the front of the torque tube housing, it will look just like this at the rear access point.

the hole is at the end of the yellow paint mark on the TT, should have a black rubber plug in the hole.
