Thanks. I got the oil filler cap from Roger (928sRus). I have no idea whether or not he still carries them, or if anyone else does.

Note that 928 MS carries some billet oil filler caps, too (different design, though).

Yeah I've seen the 928MS ones, but not quite what I'm searching for..Maybe Roger will chime in as to whether he still has any available.

To that end, and maybe getting the conversation back in the direction it started: Does this brace reduce clearance between it and the intake tubes, etc when compared to stock? Also, there's something mounted to my stock brace...I forget what it is. It's clamped around the (round) bar...what is the recommended way of relocating that, or do people just clamp it to the square bar the same way?
Our cross brace will sit about 1/8" higher than stock. There are no clearance issues.

That little valve is an air bleed valve that raises the idle speed 200 rpm when you turn on your air conditioner.

Many guys unplug it, cap the vacuum line and take it out of the car. It only operated at idle with the AC on anyway. Or you can just take it off the cross brace and ziptie it to something stable so it doesn't fly around and leave it be.

Kibort: I'll sell you an unfinished one for $144 so you can try it out. Polished $20 more.

Call Gretchen at 920-485-0928 and place your order and give her the address you want it shipped to.

Most crossbars are bent on the later model cars.

The count is now 6...

In addition to being bent, I have had two cars with fatigue cracks just inside the mounting points on the bolt flange. We doubled the section of our bolting flange for this reason. The bolt flange is also made from 6061 T6 aluminum.

Randy - it is difficult to connect CF (carbon fiber) to a metal structure. Most use epoxy and they fail. In time, you may find the CF tube slides in and out of your mounting brackets. Keep your eye on it.

This is why we stayed all-aluminum, knowing that CF has greater curb appeal and is sexier. But I wanted to avoid those transitions that are known to be weak. I went with function over bling.

It was a gift from DR at 928 Specialists. After 5 years it is still rock solid.

Just to set the record straight on one tangential point raised in this thread and in the other one about car lifting and the cross brace - see WSM 10-2 ..... " car must stand on its wheels when cross brace is removed or installed". Never lift the car with the brace on, and then take it off. Take it off first before lifting, or don't take it off at all. I have always followed this procedure, with 3 928s, and never had a problem or a bent cross brace or cracked windshield etc.

the force that really can bend the bars is lifting the car... don't see how any thing the can do at the track can effect the bar more than the jacking force.
