Default Hate it when I screw up...need door lock./latch help

Hi everyone,

For clarity, the part I took off is item #19 in the following diagram.

http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=804-05

Had to replace the "bearing" (the mechanism) on the driver's door. During reassembly, I took the outer part of the latch off (on the outside of door - the part that catches onto the body).

Got the door handle done and started to adjust everything. Then I noticed the inside handle did not release the latch anymore. I took the part off again (two screws) and looked at everything. I am unable to figure out what I did.

Need help understanding this fix.

Thanks in advance.

Ed

Did you connect part # 46 on both ends? It's an adjustable reach rod that connects the handle to the locking mechanism.

Hi ,
No, not yet. I know that part needs attached and I did have it attached but took it off to diagnose this issue. I am having an issue with the inner door release latch. Unfortunately (and this is the part I dislike), it was working fine before I removed the outer part. The inner release now does not operate the latch like it did before I started the repair. Gotta love this stuff...

Thanks in advance.
