Fuel leak
I have a '78 928 and discovered I have a fuel leak.
I ran the tank down close to empty then gradually filled it up with gas cans full of fuel periodically raising it up on my lift.
Ultimately I discovered that there is a hose at the very top of the tank that seems to be leaking. I guess I should post a picture but you can see it looking upward from the area between the back bumper and the fuel tank on the passenger side. It seems to pass through some body structure and go into some kind of vapor/expansion tank.
Does the tank have to come out to replace this or can access be gained by removing the interior panel on that side etc.?
Thanks as always for the help!

The tank doesn't have to come all the way out.
It can just be lowered just a bit to gain enough space to replace that vent hose.
But when you are that close to having it out all the way, my advice would be to take the opportunity to remove it and clean it out thoroughly.
