I know i'm late to the party but is this a virgin picture when you found the leak? I mean did you remove the hold down bolt on the rail or was it missing?

Rail was bolted down on both ends. Injector came out due to the clip not securing it. Anyone that thinks the clips aren't necessary are wrong!

Hessank, that bracket with a hole in it is for a plastic clip which holds the harness in place, on the outboard side of the rails.

Got it Hilton. I am not close to my car at the moment.Thanks.
I can't wait to examine my injector clips because I recently replaced all my injectors in the spring.

Thought I was safe (er) after I ditched the FP gauge. Now this

If you run the newer style injectors the lower O ring retaining hat seems to hit the intake gasket which prevents them from moving and popping out, so that is helpful but not something to rely on.

I may have been scoffed at for suggesting zipties or safety wire in this role in the past but now I am thinking zipties are not going to have the problem that the clips have of not being seated right or being put on blindly and ending up upside-down. Of course you can get the injectors clipped in before installing the rail but not everyone does that.

You can get the clips for BMWs for a buck or two apiece on Ebay or Amazon. I also tried some GM ones and they did not fit.
