Hello, I am very close to purchasing a bazooka amplified sub, not sure on zize and power yet, it's either an 8 inch 50 or 100w or a 10 inch 100w tube.
What I want is a deep resonating bass, when I say deep resonating bass it makes me think of Pink Floyd The Wall.
Currently I had a left over 12 inch Kenwood in a box sub, but I find it cumbersome for the hatchback configuration with a Pioneer 180 w amp attached to it. I am reluctant to try it since the sub box takes too much space for my taste.
Yes, yes, yes, a sharkwoofer would be ideal, but my $ situation is not the best and I just want some bass to accompany the deck powered speakers at about 22 w/per channel.
I'm not sure yet where I will place the bazooka, but I was considering behind the driver seat since nobody will ever be able to sit back there and it would be out of the way.
If anybody has a bazooka setup, can you provide pics of your setup to provide me with some ideas, and how much you like it and if you would do anything different. Now keep in mind I like deep resonating bass not body and glass shaking bass. LOL
I have done some research but could not find pics of this type of setup and models used, only that they have used a bazooka.

I have both an 8" and a 10" bazooka. I started with the 8" and then my friend gave me his 10". I was very satisfied with the 8", but the 10" is quite a bit better. I would get distortion with the 8" despite a descent cutoff. The nice thing about the 10" is I can turn it down a touch rather than running it on the upper end.
As for mounting, I found the rear hatch top be the best. Sorry I don't have pics. If I were to do it all over again, I would try to mount it to the back of the rear seat. You just need to make sure you can still flip the seat back down.

You say rear hatch top, you don't actually mean on the ceiling ? You either mean on the carpeting or on the ledge of the window.
Another option also is to mount in between the two rear seats when they are upright to prevent stuff back there flying/sliding up front and hitting my elbow on the centre console, has happened !

My car had a Bazook previously installed by the PO. It took up waaay too much of the rear hatch area and looked too 'ricer' so I deleted it and replaced it with an 8" sub enclosure that sits in the spare tire well.
Great sound and it looks much better now.

Andre, I've got it, and we can combine this with the nitrous thread at the same time!
Get the bazooka, paint it blue, slap on a NOS sticker-- good to go brother!

Jetson. Looks like Andre will be buying one where he lives in Canada. Take your pick between the 8" or 10". $120 with ship to US. Note-I am now enroute to CT so I won't be able to ship until next Tue when I get back to Rockport, TX. T

I have an 8" bazooka tube hooked up to a 150 watt alpine amp. It bumps very well and sounds amazing. Amplifiers do matter. Get a small 2 channel or alpine or rockford fosgate mono amp for the sub. My amp is in the tire well and did fit inside spare area. The 8" tucks nicely under my cargo cover undetected. Ill take pics tomorrow or wednesday.
