Replacing 928 Seats, Steering Wheel, Etc - What Other Porsche Parts Fit?
I'd like to do a little updating to the interior on my 928 and I'm finding plenty of inexpensive Porsche seats, steering wheels and the like but I haven't been able to come up with any solid information with regards to what will and what will not easily fit into the 928. Are there any good resources or rules of thumb out there? I've tried searching all over the place and just haven't come up with much. I know I've seen pictures of other 928s with parts from more modern Porsche's installed. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I think you request is way too broad. Why don't you find a picture of a particular later Porsche item--seat of steering wheel or whatever--post a picture of it or them and then ask if anyone knows if it will fit or can be adapted to your car, whatever it is.
On the other hand, some lite shed on is that some other Porsche stuff can be fit or adapted to you car. But that doesn't help, does it?

Like myself, you are not of the airbag generation. Search under 'Momo steering wheels'. You will find threads with lots of pictures. They're easy on/easy off, look good, and feel well under the hand. Still use Search for the seats. There was a recent thread regarding the interchangeability with 924 seats.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about UNEEKONE. I'd love to run the steering wheel Madturk has on his 928 with the seats similar to or exactly like you posted UNEEKONE. The seats of the same vintage of Madturk's steering wheel would be perfect. I like the seats and three spoke steering wheel from the 2001-2004 Boxster S. I was hoping they would bolt right up but apparently not. I certainly don't have the tools necessary to build suitable replacement rails.

Seats bolt right on. Didn't have to do anything. The only issue is these seats are a little wider. The e-brake trim is sort of on the way. I haven't done anything to it yet but at one point I will have to get it out and trim it a bit to make it look cleaner.

That's kind of what I was getting at...I'm really surprised that the 987 Boxster seats don't just bolt right up. Those sport seats you installed are from a 997 aren't they Madturk?

This is the directional thread I used. Like Madturk says, the fit (width) is tight, but there should be a few mm of play so the seat can be fitted without modification to the e-brake housing. Also, they mount tall, at least mine did. So the top of the head rest touches the headliner when the seat back is put forward, meaning, the seat back doesn't go forward all the way, meaning no one is using the back seats. For me that's ok. In seated position they have 2-3 inches of clearance from the headliner. . Also mine are manual seats with power recline. Memory, heated, etc makes the electrical more complicated I would imagine. Good luck

He is correct the seat backs won't go forward all the way. It'll touch the headliner. But I could care less about that. I'm thinking about getting rid of the back seats too. Yes, the pair I have is similar but mine are black leather with dark gray stitching. They also have the Volcano Gray back as well. I was planning on pulling the side airbags out and selling them and replacing them with a fabricated panel or I was going to completely remove the openings by fiberglassing them in and blending the patch to be seamless with the surrounding cover and then spraying them to be the same color as the exterior of my 928 (which is black). One of the 500 things on my short list that I haven't been able to check off over the past 6 years of owning the car...
