Jim,
It will be plug-and-play for both the 80-83, and 83.5-95 928's. Also can be setup as generic with pigtails and probably Deutch DT/DTP connectors to work with any car that has electric solenoid vacuum operated airflow controls.

Well, the progress was slowed somewhat due to illness, but the real lack of progress is due to a very hard brick wall in the programming of this! The V1 and V2 designs used only the pins on the Arduino as direct control to the relays on the board (a fairly simple proposition), but when I added the blower fan control relays, I needed more pin outputs from the Arduino. So V3 has a new chip added that uses SPI to communicate with the Ardunio that give me 16 outputs - that chip has caused many weeks of headaches! At the moment, I can control *some* of the 14 relays I need to interface with the car - the others are playing hard to get. Just the last few days I have reached out to the Arduino forums for help, and am making slow progress with their help. Sorry for not having it done by now - this SPI problem has been a stumper. I will get it - just taking longer than I hoped.

Its all good. We are a patient group. Well, except me. I am not that patient but I just don't post about it so you don't see me hopping around impatiently.

Speak for yourself Jeff. I for one can't wait for it.
Al, I'm glad you are feeling better. Your health is more important than any of this.
By the way, I received the flush double din kit. It's awesome.
Thank you for doing this.

Good news AL.

Hate you have not felt well. But you don't have to work on this and my double din kit at the same time ya know....

I've dedicated Sat morning to finish the design of the plastic center vent levers that are extended to reach the flush position for the original louver style. I'll get both style levers done then and ready for Shapeways.
HVAC control programming battle is ongoing..... Getting step-by-step help from the forum online.

Al,
This is awesome work ~! I read on one post that the lighting color will be red or blue? How hard would it be to have a soft white like the factory lighting for the rest of the dash? Is this unit small enough to be placed lower in a flush type mount with a double din up higher just under the vents?

This is a direct replacement for the stock HVAC control, so same size height and width, same mounting. It is much shallower than stock. It can fit in my flush 2X DIN bracket just like the stock unit.
For the soft white lighting, it would have to be a special order, and build the board with white LEDs instead of the blue/red combo LEDs currently in the design. I think it could work without any board redesign, but that assembly would not be able to have color LEDs later.
