Day 3
Now in Troy NY.
A couple of more pictures latter when I access my camera.
Car moved into th good mpg earlier than previously today. Very respectable 12.6/100l which is closer to 19! Car is not being babied according to onboard average speed for trip from my driveway is now at 107 kph which is 67 mph,
The drive through NY state was wonderful despite some of the drivers. I've never seen drivers tha didn't let someone back into the right lane and I won't even start on the guy in the BMW Z4,he should be shot.
Best part was when the traffic opened up a little, not enough to cruise, but enough to move if you don't mind moving around a little. I had a bicker on my tail for about 20 minutes. You could tell he was digging the RMB sound as it went up and down the revs somewhat aggressively.
Car has leather seats, pod was done by me. For moe info follow the link in the first post.
Car came with the wheels a nice bonus.

The car is diamond blue metallic, depending on the light and light angle you can see some purple and at time pink. To my eye it was very purple this am, but the camera doesn't do it justice.
Really really really need time to fix the ipod connection, when we finally find a station we we like, between the hills and the speed lucky to get 3 songs before we have to find another

Day 4
My wife wanted me to make 2 additions/ corrections.
The BMW Z4 was from New Jersey, and the bicker that was following did pull up beside the car on a corner and give her the nod.
3000 miles, total, still not missing a drop, and just starting to discolor.
Hood liner is coming off, 8 hours of spirited driving in 85+ temps.
Having a blast
The elevation change doesn't show on the picture.
Back roads of Maine a lot of fun. Again lots of switch backs and elevation changes.
Rest stop, obligatory picture of the car.
Long day, made it to St John New Brunswick.
The highway between Bangor and Canada that is most direct to St John is not a freeway, although road surface was iffy at times it was still lots of fun.
No matter how hard I drive the car, the elevation changes, or even 20 minutes just sitting there stuck, at the end of the day the mileage is still 18 mpg, I don't think my Volvos would do as well driven as spiritly.
No oil consumption and the oil is just starting to discolor, impressive.
The cruise control stopped working around hour 6 for an hour or so, weird.
Occasional squeak from the blower, it will need to be addressed when I return.
I still haven't had time to fix the aux on the stereo, I now listen to country music as well.

What's a "tool road"?
On the way back you might consider due west across Maine, NH and Vermont. The road's are great and deserted and the ferry trip across Lake Champlain from Burlington to Lake Placid is not to be missed.
You could probably do the Blue Nose salt water ferry from PEI or Halifax to Maine for two sea voyages for the 928 - one salt, one fresh.
And if you went across across the Mackinac Bridge and traversed the Youp and upper Minnesota you'd have added in an aerial leg.

Second the northern route through Maine, NH, Vermont and up-state NY. Did it years ago in my 944 and the secondary roads were terrific and second-nature to these cars.. Just be ready to wave "hello" to ever person you pass, walking or driving. Never seen anything like it. I can guarantee you one thing...you won't get that if you cross MI to get to the Machinac bridge...lol.

Easy drive today, 150 miles.
Interestingly I had my worst fuel economy last night, 13 l/100 km.
I was traveling slower, less elevation change, no AC. However first time with the lights up, is it possible the added aerodynamic drag and alternator load was greater than the AC?
A few days here in PEI and start planning the trip home.

Day 6
So wake up to lousy rain and plans for the day based on fair weather, had to be changed.
After 5 days straight of driving and thousands of miles, what to do?.....
Decided to go on a 200 mile drive around the east side of the island.
Except for when it was really raining it was a blast.
Again slower calmer driving and worse fuel economy, it appears the car returns better fuel economy when driven hard and long.
I LIKE THIS CAR!
My wife must be enjoying it as well as she said we should do this again when I finish Tutor, the 98 5 speed I'm working on.
Some excerpts from the day.
Off the beaten path is sometimes really off of the beaten path, bridge to ship wreck cove.
Ship wreck cove cafe, good food, really good pie.

Awesome views from lighthouse, but this picture from a drone even more so.
Often very rainy, the big fat tires did not perform well in the flooded tire depressions on the road.

Not much to report today, basic tourist stuff, wen to Anne Land, the beach and a Lobster supper.
Had an opportunity to fix the aux cable this am so we'll have steady tunes on the way home.
Checked the oil, and still not noticeably below the full line, and still a very nice color.
Car has been starting poorly, usually starts first turn, it has been taking a fe cranks, I'm hoping that it is a bad tank of gas, I'll find out latter this week.
Going to attend the Acadia Show and shine on Sunday, first car show, we'll see how it goes, I'll get it cleaned up however I'm going to leave the hood liner as is as any repair will make it more difficult for removal for the full redo.

All of the cute kids were wearing Anne hats, it just didn't work on the precious.
