Well, I think I might be adding another "project" to the stable.
Because I have so much time on my hands why not? (Read as self directed sarcasm)
I have negotiated a price, and sent a deposit on a 1982 5 speed. I'll post more details later. Going to get her next weekend (5 hr drive for me). If all is as described, I'll bring her home. I don't need another project, but as many of you know, before I knew how special #30 was, I was going to paint her white, and convert interior to tan. Since I decided to go original with 30, I was just watching and waiting for one in my favorite combo to pop up, and it did. Here is a sneak peek. If the deal goes through, I'll post a more detailed thread.

Does this one really qualify as a project?? I know it's just one picture but it looks perfect!

very nice - you need one that you can drive to enjoy, while you work on #30. Gotta keep the inspiration up!

I am sure the photo is a little deceiving. The current (soon to be PO) bought it as a project for himself. He is a paint / body hobbyist, and said he did the re spray himself. He said it had a lot of surface rust in the non aluminum areas when he got it, he sanded it down and painted. It was an original white. He said it is a really good 10-footer. He deleted the rub strips, and used filler, where I would have preferred metal filled. He said it start right up, and runs good, no smoke, but has a slight miss. Said clutch and brakes are perfect, gearbox good, body straight and solid. 1/2 the gauges work, other 1/2 does not, seats and dash are shot. He prepped , primed, and painted the wheels himself. Said he just took a new job that will have him traveling, and did not have the time to learn the intricacies of working on a 928, but did say he found parts pricing to be quite shocking, which aided in his decision to sell. He has restored a few 944's and said the parts for those are much cheaper.
All in all, I felt he described it honestly and accurately, and I got, what I feel , is a great price. I did not want to go too much into it until I could actually take possession....hopefully it will all go down next Saturday.
But hey, white, cork interior, and 5-speed...OH YEA!
Now I need to learn how L-jet works?

Congradudolences. #30 gets a younger brother.
It will be really nice having one that you can drive, even if it's not perfect.
You don't have a problem until you get four. (and if/when I get a fourth, the number will then be "five")

MrMerlin's 85 Euro that he has for sale, Tony77's blue GTS (Just Beachy) that he just sold, GaryKnox's GTS that sold a little bit ago.
Those are all fine examples of 'ready to go' cars that you could buy and jump into to drive just about anywhere.

Well, you guys are going to drag all the photos I have out of me, huh?
The interior is great compared to the tatters #30 has, but here is a side shot...see the drivers seat? Perhaps get some of those good eBay seat covers.
