Default How to disassemble 6-way seats for reupholstery 1984 928S

Hi guys,
Due to some rips in my old seat bolsters, I ordered front seat upholstery from Rob Budd. I will pull th PS seat and figure out my technique, but I was wondering about seat assembly and cover install. I can probably figure it out, but the section 74 is missing from my WSM and I have not found anything exactly right by searching. Anyone have any pictures or links for information.
Thanks in advance.
BTW the new covers are brown leathe with black and beige pascha.

Whatever help is available, I'm pretty sure I'll eventually figure it out. I plan to post pictures of the whole reupholstery process on a separate thread.
Thanks,
Dave

Yes - please post pictures.
I was about to do this (for the seat backs) and do a write-up but will concede that privilege to you.

Dave, remember Gary Knox's tip ... he says use zip-ties in place of steel 'hog rings' when you put the new covers on. He said the zip ties are much easier to tighten incrementallly for fine adjustment

Thanks Tom
I've used hog rings before but there are some very good zip ties I might consider.

Thanks, guys, for your support. The covers are coming early July. I will pull my PS seat and start disassembly pretty soon. I will start a new thread with picture of the whole process.
Take care,
Dave

Looking forward to seeing your work. I have the same year/seats as you, and this project is pretty high on my list.
I'll let you be the guinea pig

If you use zip ties get very high quality ones....some of them the plastic breaks down pretty quickly...

This raises an interesting question - How do you tell? Price? Source? Manufacturer/Brand? Some combo of the above?

Any recommendations? Ways to determine?

This brand seems very strong. I have had good luck with them not breaking.

Well, the project has begun. I picked the first 90 degree day in Chicago to pull my passenger seat. It took maybe 30 minutes to figure it out and remove it. Basically you remove the plastic trim at the floor rails the 4 Allen head bolts, 5mm, then disconnect one electrical plug and the seat comes out. I don't quite know why they used threaded plates to hold the Allen bolts, and they will probably be a bi*ch to put back, but we'll deal with that later. I've got the seat on a cart and will split the backrest off, then the seat rails. Maybe tomorrow when it's cooler. Pics to follow.
Take care,
Dave

My 10 year old Cocomats were looking a little tired so I ordered new mats to go with the black and tan Pascha, and brown leather.
Take care,

Got the picture off the Cocomats.com website. I hope that's legal. It's called Chequers and was apparently popular with BMW 2000's in the 60's. The scale of the pattern is quite similar to the Pascha, without the psychedelic effects of course. I have been very happy with their mats in the past. This is the first with that pattern though.Name: corkpasha01.jpg

That's a Rob Budd picture in Cork with black/tan Pascha, just for comparison. Mine will use brown leather. Door inserts will also be matching Pascha.
