So, it needs body work, paint, int touch up, engine no test and he wants big coin? When you say title is clean, has the accident been reported to any insurance company? That will get on carfax eventually.

We'll be buying parts off it in 12-18 months. These are not the 'droids you are looking for.

I can show you a car lot full of wreck /repair cars with clean carfaxes and most of them were purchased at insurance auto auctions.

I own two Audi's with salvage titles with clean carfaxes.

This is not the first time I've heard that about carfax. I'm not the only one who's lost faith in the commercial title surety guarantees. Wonder if anyone's ever collected on a false carfax report from them.
