Police report that the driver was going "too fast".
Sunday's paper had a feature on raising the max speed limits in several states, including Oregon where we are now. Opposition forces always cite accident statistics, including those gathered from accident reports wher the officer gets to check a box to indicate that speed is a factor in the accident. For some accidents, like this one, speed is a factor because of wet road conditions, and the obstacles in the highway that the driver tried to avoid. Had he been driving 30 instead of 100, of course he would have been able to safely avoid those obstacles. Of course, traffic density would be X3 with fewer people paying full attention, so there would be bumper accidents instead.
Oregon is considering raising the limits on interstates from 65 all the way up to 70 MPH(!!!). All others will still have 55 MPH cap. Most folks here have adopted 65 as a 'comfort' speed on the posted-55 state highways. The same roads in Colorado are posted 75.

Statistics Smatistics.
Local Ad had a patrolman quoting that 20% of fatal accidents involved speeding and 80% of drivers speed. So slow down.
Heck, I say speed up and go after that slow 20% causing 80% of fatal accidents!

What's odd to me is the '88-up small resonator. (Left side won't fit S3 w/o modification.
)
Saw that in the feed too, but did not realize it was a 928! Ouch.
'Green' (with cats) S3 available ROW in '86. 9.3 vs 10:1 compression for ROW unleaded available at that time.

He went through the guardrail (based on Google Translate and my poor 2 years of High School German) and flipped. The car sacrificed itself-like Panos' and like Michael Wilhoit's.
I'll give due to Porsche's amazing design...
