Very little cam gear wear; must be the photos. If the belt's on backwards, then my track days are a true test that it doesn't matter? Honestly I've never seen any indicators that belts are directional Sean.

D'oh, good catch Ken...I labeled that before my coffee kicked in

BTW I can trim my fuel pressure with my adjustable FPR. I'll only use the WOT pot if my mid-range AFR's differ much from my upper AFR's.

How worn is your cam gear, the way that belt is bow'd it makes me think they are very worn. Also, your belt is on backwards.
really????? belts are not directional....... belt is not bowed and cam gears look fine.

Porken.... care to chime in?

He did, my coffee had not kicked in.

Mark (& Ken on a prior post) were correct: 1-4 was set +2 degrees in lieu of -2 degrees.

Well we cut short as the storms were rolling in...but after 15 partial runs, I found the correct "clocking" of my MAF relative to fuel pressures and pulled a 304/304 with low 12's AF, so we knew we had the position right: I pulled off the dyno and hauled butt home fast to not get caught in the rain w/o windows, wipers, or on slicks I tuned it on the highway by TWS before we got on the track...after replacing 2 bad plug wires with a whole new set: ran great all weekend, very strong, 12.8-13 AF's at WOT the whole weekend. Dunno the final dyno result...though I'll post video links later as they come in. I did go off-roading once as it poured both Friday night and Saturday night, got the car nice & muddy :/

my guess 310 rwhp. I think the main downside is that the 32 valve 85 has the smaller valves vs the S4 which can make 290rwhp with nothing modified but no cat.
So, I was close!

well I was 304/304 with mid 11's AF below 5k and low 12's near redline, so I was rich on both areas I should have been leaner on...my experience shows that peak torque is ideal with AF's nearing 12.6, and peak HP about 13-13.1 or so. Damn MAF's are so finicky...esp. w/o the proper airbox to keep the air smooth. :/

actually, you want t be in the 12s for max power as well (safe power anyway)ive been in the 13s and 12s, and that hasnt made much difference. max torque isnt really a concern, only an indication as you dont use the car much there anyway. But max HP is important and your AF was in the ideal range in the 12s.
I would be very surprised if you can get the AF to the 13s in the redline, max hp range, and get more power due to that.
Isnt the MAF ignored under WOT? I thought it was.
anyway, i was in the 10s and 11s before i pulled the fuel way back on my stroker motor. the injectors are just too big for the power of only 375rwhp, so, should have gone with your stock 85 injectors vs the 30lbers im using. at under 40psi. (I was at near 70psi with the 19s and 335rwhp, 12.6:1 AF originally and the smaller 5 liter motor)

I ended up near 55psi fuel pressure on 30# injectors on the Porken chips...clocking the MAF made a world of injustice as most of my dyno runs were aborted at 3000-3500 as my AF's were well beyond the 13 range. When I dyno'd the snot out of my second 86.5, I made peak power at about 13:2 AF, gaining about .4 AFR with every psi of fuel I took out until I reached 13.2, then it leveled and then began losing power again with more fuel taking out, so I put 3psi back in it and left it at 12.9:1 (302/296 at that time, 17 years ago). I still have a Kirban adjustable FPR and a gauge on my rail: 044 pump ensures I won't run out of pump like I did on my turbo car.

interesting.... I think you can run 55psi vs my 40psi with 30lbs injectors, as yours is tuned (designed ) for 24lb while mine is for 19lbs ( S4 vs 85)
because are able to actually tune it with more than pressure, it doesnt really matter i guess. get that thing to near 13AFR and lets see how much power you get... if you get more than 5 or 10, ill be all over trying to lean out mine (still stuck in the lower 12s too)
