Alex-- That looks like a 'paintless dent repair' candidate.
If I were driving where hitting a 50#+ obstacle was that big a risk, I'd look at adding some reinforcement to at least the front part of the aluminum pan. I'd also be shopping for some steel pieces similar to what Carl offers, but maybe with a cross piece/plate that would add impact and more parking-bumper protection between them. Might be as easy as driilling/tapping Carl's brackets and adding some slightly-curved flat stock or formed channel between them.

Maybe we can get Carl to design a splitter / cow catcher for the 928.

Dr. Bob,
The object was (from my quick glimpse before I hit it) was either an alternator or a starter that was in the middle of the road. Couldn't swerve to avoid it unfortunately, just had to listen to the nice sound of it rumbling down the length of the car. No damage to the rear except a little dent in the rear muffler. I got lucky.
I think the pan did an exceptional job keeping me from having to buy a new starter at minimum and repairing a block if it ripped my starter off. Best insurance I've bought in a while. God bless Mark Anderson....

I can revisit this with my sheet metal shop but years ago they said they could not reproduce the ducts cost effectively. I'm guessing the same is true now based on what polecat has come up with.

Here's something to think about.
Y'all bought an 80 to 90 thousand dollar Porsche, and can't afford a 351 dollar part for it.
I THINK YOU ALL NEED TO SELL YOU'RE CARS, AND GET INTO A HOBBY YOU CAN AFFORD!
I'm gonna destroy the tooling and fixtures, and FVCK you all. 20K isn't that big a deal, when it comes to tooling up to make a product. It's the chicken **** 350 bucks you sniveling bitches can't come up with that grips my ***!
For 43 years I was a Hells Angel, and the one thing I could always count on was a man's word! We lived and died by it! Except for a few, and I mean damn few! Y'all are some sorry SOB's.
There are some really great people here on this forum, and you know who you are, and the others y'all know who you are.

Joe - I think you need to step back - maybe take a break for a while - then reread this whole thread - every post - and see what people Actually said - not what you think they said...
I didn't see a single person say they were previously interested but now the price is just too high. I saw several say they are specifically still in - even for multiples.
Several said your tooling cost sunk into this was high, including me - not criticisms IMO - its your money - your choice.
Roger gave some actual baseline Porsche costs for the whole stock pan/ducts and his assessment of demand vs price on ducts alone - but he wasn't ever an end customer here more of a possible sales channel for you?
For my part I already have an aluminum pan with ducts installed as I have posted about several times - I highlighted the challenge of finding these ducts stand alone. I did just re-read the whole thread - to me your interpretation/reaction doesn't really match what was written here.

Roger, said he can get a complete pan with the ducts for under 4 hundred. Had I known that I wouldn't have jumped in like a fool.
I'm not really out anything, I can write it off on a project here in Vegas. I'm gonna destroy the tooling and fixtures.
$350.00 bucks wouldn't cover the lunch tab for one of my clients. I had no idea it would bankrupt all the 928 S4 owners.

Listen. I know you have already inferred or outright stated that you are old as dirt, are the smartest guy in any room, and wipe your *** with 100 dollar bills (yall).
But this has nothing to do with "Afford" - and clear your ears for this.
There are 928 owners here who have more education and for that reason, expendable income than you will see in your lifetime. There are others who are not as well off, but certainly not destitute - and the 928 is a 4th or 5th car.... Again it has nothing to do with "afford" and it has much to do with what is valued and what is not.
At this point your temper tantrum is not valued. People have attempted to value your contributions here - but its becoming a very large challenge. Take the chip off your shoulder and put it in the tasseled saddle bag of your HOG - and as suggested above take a step back.
The comments about someone's lunch being more than 350 are laughable... And stupid. For you to say, and someone to spend, no matter what is eaten. Just as there may be a question as to the value of stamped steel.
Blow up at me, blow up at anyone you wish to. But understand you are coming off as a tone deaf ****.
