That vid shows that generation maxxing out at 177.

My generation R1 upped that considerably. I had mine at 173 MANY times (redline in 5th gear) If I had gone into 6th it would reach 190(theoretically -DRAG), (each gear added 17 mph) but never did because of the distances covered at that speed and COPS.

My 2012 crossplane crank R1 would hit 105 in 1st gear. Amazingly FAST and secure. Experiences were priceless, nothing else can come close. At the time I bought mine new in 2012 it was the quickest wheeled experience you could have. NOW with all these electrics and hyper cars doing sub 2.5 it's a different world.

Here is the generation after mine not a huge leap but FAST and these guys are nutz

So much for drag, this same model R1 as mine on the Autobahn hit 316 kmh (sez the owner using GPS) or 196 mph! The R1 was the 928 of bikes. So solid and smooth at speed and good looking. Yamaha knows how to make machines. They had a lot to do with the engine in the LFA.

I had my R1 for 9 years. It had 0 miles on the clock when delivered, not even a shakedown from the dealership and yet never an issue in those 9 years. Sales price minus trade in value cost me $600/yr for that unbelievable experience!

If any GERMAN knows that section of autobahn, maybe mention it and some 928 owner can run that for top speed. Looks smooth as can be.

Looks like in the north or north east.
Early Sunday morning is a good time for such things.
