cleaner injector additives in tank

I have been using Techron every so often for years. Mostly as a preventative maintenance type deal. Never noticed much before or after, to be honest.
I just used Witch-Hunter to clean and flow test my injectors.
They did a very good job BTW. Nice turn around.
It was interesting that they send back all the old components on the injectors, in the pic are the old screen filters with a fair amount of residue on them.

After that Ihad to fill up but the car was not behaving well, I discovered at the fuel station that air filter was 99% clogged: my car worked as a vacuum cleaner and has sucked all the dirt of about 200 kms of highway!!!
compressed air solved the problem, then the engine changed and was more responsive.....I came back home with a big grin on my face.
After that I think I will pull injectors and go for ultrasonic cleaning.

Check the cost of ultrasonic cleaning versus new ones from Roger- not sure what the cost differential is but may not be that great.
Not sure I like the idea of cleaning an air filter with compressed air. It is one thing if your filter catches a load of crap but another if that amount of crap is present and the filter matrix has been damaged and canot catch it any more. Stock air filters are not designed ot be cleaned- they are designed to be changed. The max I would recommend done to a filter element would be place it upside and let the crud drop out that choses to do so, perhaps with a little percussion to help it, hit it wiht a fly swatter type of thing whilst holding the element in your hand.

asked for quotes, 100 euros for eight injectors + 50 for new inner filters , seals and the front caps, this bosch service center has also a bench to match flow and test impendance and so on....
I think that 10 bottles of cleaner , at about 15 Euros(in Italy) can't compare to a professional work.
Air filter:I don't like usually to clean filters with compressed air. In that case, at 400kms from home, compressed air was the only "MCgyver" fix I could get from the gas station.it worked well for the rest of back-home trip.
about the Italian tune up(go flat out as long as your foot has not cramps) : I have to say that the prolongued autobahn speed at 2xx km/h really cleaned the engine and the exhaust, rear tips were really grey inside, instead of usual black/dark color of deposits.
the engine , after I went home that day, had a new air filter and it was way smoother than before at idle.I noticed a slightly better fuel economy , and more responsive feeling of the throttle.

Completely agree with getting the injectors serviced.
I regard stuff like injector cleaner as a preventative, rather than a fix. With known-good injectors/history on the car, I use the liqui-moly injector cleaner every 5 thousand kms or so in each of the cars.
I also used their Tappet Stop Noise in my '87 to good effect to address intermittent noisy lifters after sitting for a few days on a diagonal slope with the left-front corner of the car downhill. (metal journal pins installed and check valve bits replaced before trying an oil additive)
