Distressed look cam cover - opinions
So the crinkle black paint lasted about 10 years. But now looks like crap.
This motor is going in the track car, and I needed to replace the cam cover gaskets. What a great opportunity to get the killer powder coat job, etc.
But, as I was taking off the old paint, I kind of liked the look for the track car. I sprayed some clear satin over it. I know the clear will yellow, and that the cover will continue to oxidize, but I like the look for some reason.
Anyone else see what I'm going for, or should I just make them pretty.

Suddenly I'm picturing a sort of rat rod/Mad Max "interceptor" version of a 928. Needs a roots type blower etc etc. Somebody get that trashed GT from the Top Gear thing out of Argentina, let's do it!

Right, the switch activated clutch for the supercharger is always the stumper.
;-)
Track car- I like them. Just say 'no' to black wheels, though.
And 'wow, louie is still around rennlist! Cool!"

If anything maybe paint the letters black? or just let them fill up with old burned oil and dirt.
