Are there any new antenna options out there?

Roger, I'm sure your good old dad taught you that reception on an antenna is based mostly on it's fractional wavelength and correct impedance. Shorty antennas are gonna have a hard time with reception no matter the amplified signal in the antenna base. FM is last gen technology, and AM is stone age. But - it's what we have legacy so you need an antenna to best match. 88MHz(FM lowest freq) is 3.4 Meters. 1/4 wave would be .85M or 33". Less than 1/4 wave gets pretty iffy on faint signals. Surely these are 1/8 wave(FM) ~ 16". Now, lets discuss dipole azimuth orientation and the effects on a moving car!

My Father (bless his little cotton socks) would be pretty disappointed with me and my total lack of electron knowledge. However I am just lucky to have friends like you and Tony to point me in the right direction 8>)

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

Well it took a long time for me to fit the antenna as shown in post #13. I fitted at the top of the rear hatch glass to the left of the third brake light. Grounded to a screw that locates the glass and ran two wires forward to the sunroof motor area. Connected 12v power and the antenna and I am very impressed so far. Only been a couple of days but reception on my favorite FM stations is strong and clear. I do still have an inline amp as well.
Thanks Tony!!

If your antenna is a rear quarter mount, you might like my Honda S2000 mod.
