Default Has anybody used STI Performance spark plug wires?

These wires caught my attention: silicone over silicone insulation, lifetime warranty...

Plug wires should last 100k miles and 20+ years. With that lifetime I'd pony up the extra $100 or so for the OE Berus.

I haven't used the wires in your link. They look poorer in quality than the Berus.
I've used Nology wires once, long ago. Meh. Not worth the hassle.

Yes, I am recently installed a set in my S3/32V.

I find them to be very well constructed, and a good value- - superior to my past experience with Beru in a 16V application.

Concur on the Nology's, I had an early set and the vendor took them back for credit after the insulation tore on the initial set and a replacement.
Yeah, I know- first thought on that is operator error...but in the second occurrences the were more experienced hands than mine doing the work, and there were four or five of us around that all concurred it was not the handling that was the problem.

I'm using these on my 87 S4. I couldn't be happier. Really high quality spark plug wires.

They are about 1mm bigger than stock so they wont fit in the stock snap together wire loom things, but you can order "clip" kits with the wires if you want. I just used my stock wire loom connectors and drilled them out slightly bigger. Worked perfectly.

The counterpoint is that, if you already have the proper Beru ends, Beru wires from Roger are actually cheaper than that. Not saying that these aren't just as good or even better, but they're a bit of an unknown, relative to the Beru.

If you have original Beru wires you already have the ends. The spark plug and distributor ends are by far the most expensive part of a wire set. What normally fails is the wire and not the ends. Ends can be tested very easily and if one is bad much cheaper to buy one end than 20. A spark plug end is circa $30.
We sell Beru wires, correct length with the correct Beru terminals to screw into the Beru ends you already have. Available in red or black - you know red is faster - right!
87 to 95 32v = $145
85 to 86 32v = $145
84 to 86 16v Twin Dizzy = $145

Wires are cut and the terminals assembled by Mr Merlin - aka Stan - so the quality is perfect

For the S4+ wires anyway, the 'smart' part of the wire is the spark plug end, where the resistance is included. The wires in between are metal-cored. So when you buy wire for these, you are shopping for the insulation and the fit, with the right connector ends to mate with the Beru plug ends. For '89+ cars, the coil wire has a different end for the coil leads. If your existing Beru spark plug ends are not damaged, you can get away with just replacing the wire sections with Roger's wires-only package. That said, the Beru replacement set has all the connectors, clips, clamps. spacers, sleeves, etc already installed in in the correct places, and the wires are cylinder numbered exactly like the originals. It's a drop-in package that, for me anyway, was worth the extra $$.

Related: A service guest shared a set of "just the wires" with me, and it's stored away safely with the other spares. At some point when I have an extra hour or two and I have a big enough table space cleared, I might be tempted to rebuild the original wires from the car with the new pieces. But the original set lasted 25 years and 100k on the car. If the Beru replacement set lasts anything close to that long, the next replacement will be by the next caretaker of the car.
