My trick is to partially put it on and turn the crank so that the pulleys turn and it slips right on after that.

Yep, that is exactly what I did. For some reason, when that was initially suggested, I was thinking the belt would have to be fully on the accessory and turning the crank would walk it onto the crank pulley, and there was no way to gain slack near the PS crank pulley that way...but sure enough, it walked right onto the accessory pulleys, no problems. I can't believe I wasted so much time struggling to do it another way, but now I know.

LOL, I'm glad you were able to get it on. For my first real mechanical work that I've done was last spring on my new baby, which needed a new timing belt, wp and tensionner job. When Bertrand Daoust was helping me out and we were having trouble installing the belts, I suggested that to him and WOW it was on, what a joy !

I am a computer guy, not a mechanic at all, but I have surprised myself.

I'm not great mechanically either. I did do some of the work on my RX-8 and RX-7 before that, but not on the level I'm doing now. Clearly, I never did belts on those cars lol...
