why were you keeping the rpms around 45-5000rpm? did i miss read something. also, why shift at 6000rpm!! if you are going to take the chance to race, you may as well put your best foot forward (right through the floor and dont look back as you shift just shy of the rev limiter)

find that guy , take all your stuff out of the car and race him again!!

but do it safely and where it is safe!!

Yeah what he said. But isn't peak torque around 3000 rpm? If you tried to hold engine speed there, you should have had max accel the whole time, Right? - Ruf

Mark and Ruf,
i was trying to keep the rpms up being that around 6000 rpms the car seems to stop pulling and when i shift i would rather the cars rpms drop to minimum 4500 rpms because im still in the power band and if i shift at 3000 rpms and the rpms drop to 1500 the most i lost the power and it takes a few seconds to get it back up (bad thing about the 16v).Also Mark im stripping the car a little at a time , the smog pump set up is coming out and the same with the A/C system since it doesnt work and i have windows :-),the sunroof system is gone and replaced with a carbon/kevlar filler panel.
Gerry,
the bearings were replaced in july when i put the short shifter in, I think it was more or less my doing. Trying to shift to fast and force the shift. Also Gerry where on Long Island are you from? Me and 928 Blur are from Northport.

Saturday was a different day i took out a M3. But just keep in mind that all racing was not done on a busy street but on expressways or industrial parks during late hours.
