Cameron - I'm not sure I'd call that car "sorted". Even when it was done, it looked pretty rough. I'm guessing still needs all new fuel lines, complete top end refresh, timing belt/water pump, restoration of the brake calipers, at least cosmetically. Do all of those things, add the D90s back on, and the value will be much higher.

I understand that people miss earlier threads on subjects. Not everyone reads EVERY thread, EVERY day. I wasn't trying to "Enzo" you guys.

What confused me was, even my Dish Network information guide said it was a "New" episode first aired "12-3-14"

Did anyone notice the Gulf blue 928 on the trailer? I would have liked to see more of that.

I haven't had time to go through the whole episode. I skipped to the end to see the valuation. I certainly thought that they would have been more thorough than that in preparing the car for sale.

The other thing that I wondered is why wouldn't they have taken the time to replace the split rad hose and try the run to 170 mph again, even if it meant coming back the next day. Would have made for a much more interesting ending to the show.

No front seats in the GT they bought. But, there happens to be light sport seats with black piping that match the GT's back seats, in that really beat up car that they first looked at. "Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm"

I noticed a few flaws in the show.

1. No emblem on the hood when the appraiser test drove the car
2. Rear bumper cover after paint looks non glossy in areas
3. They say they serviced the Tbelt but didn't go into too much detail
4. They never said how fast it went on the airstrip - they just show the car at idle then the hose blew
4. The bald guy is extremely annoying

Most "reality" shows are more theater than reality, this one especially. For some reason I keep tuning into it just for the drama. Velocity has some good shows - some I watch for pure dramatic entertainment, others I find interesting for the cars (Chasing Classic Cars, for example), and some for the creative workmanship (Overhaulin', Bitchin' Rides, FantomWorks, etc.).

As for the 928GT on this episode, I would have been more comfortable buying it before they laid their hands on it.

If this is the programme I think it is the gulf blue car is Paul Anderson's race car. Paul is one of the most knowledgeable 928 specialists in the UK and he for sure will have known what he had and how much it was worth.

That car of his also goes very well even though it is limited by the class rules he races in. Apologies if I have the wrong programme in mind.

Regards

Fred
