Guys
The car is a 5 spd I did nothing other than change the battery. I tried to start the car with loose battery connections ( forgot to tighten them) I tightened the connections when the car refused to turn over. Car now turns over but wont start. I put a noid light in one of the injector plugs but it doesn't flash when I crank the engine. I can hear the fuel pump running when I cycle the ignition So suggestions please. Also can some one point me in the direction where I can find out how to jumper the ECU and ignition relays.
Thanks
Sean

We had a guy with an 84 track car and similar problem. Loaded up the car after a track day and then the car would turn over but not start. Turned out when he loaded the hatch, he dislodged the stock jumper wire in the three terminal plug in the spare tire well. In an A/T, this wire continues to the tranny for the neutral safety switch. In a 5 speed, the connector hangs loose and there is just a short "U" shaped wire that bridges two of the three pins.
Check it out, could be an easy fix.

Got to the track early this morning and on the advise of a friend I gave her a wiff of starting fluid and the dam thing sprang to life. I don't know why!
Any ways that's the good news. Bad news oil is pissing out the oil pump seal. So no track day tomorrow. Just not enough time or desire to pull and reseal the pump before tomorrow morning.

if your car is the euro spec k jetronic your cold start fault may be with the warm up regulator WUR mounted at the top of the front of the engine.it has a fine steel mesh inside that can be stripped out and cleaned.
i had the same fault as your describing a few years ago.basically whats happening is you are trying to start a cold engine on the hot fuel setting (no choke).
hope this helps.
