good point james bailey. another $10k away from a $5k car? One that's not street legal! Looks badass. Especially if those stickers come off.
Where is Maverick on all this. Awfully quiet now that911 has shown the paperwork....just sayin'
Good luck that 911!

This could be a good deal for someone wanting a track beast IF they can get the paperwork sorted out. I would say $14k is a fair price with the spare parts. As Doc points out, if the spare parts are NOT included (and I wouldn't accept them unless there was clarity from the state that they were), I would say it's maybe worth $8k-$10k at best. Personally I'd say it's worth parts price (~$5k) which isn't much on this car. It will likely need A ton of TLC, but it will be cool nonetheless.
Most of us long timers, or should I say pragmatists are going to see the car as a selection of parts that happen to all be bolted to one frame. Coupled with the low-utility of track use makes it a tough one to value. $14k is -- optimistic in my view.

That "paperwork" that you refer to is as BOGUS as the UNLAWFUL current possession it's being held under.
The Law Suite was filed against this person, his wife
(who wears the pants running the so called "unlicensed business") and his company.
Also in a EX PARTE HEARING last week the Superior Court Judge Granted a TRO (temporary restraining order) and a WRIT OF POSSESSION ruling in my favor after the NIGERIAN SHOP Owner and his Wife FAILED TO APPEAR To Be Heard In The Matter.
WHICH IS WHY ALL OF A SUDDEN HE'S TRYING TO PASS IT OFF ON SOMEONE (unsuspecting) HERE AND (as he's said) "BE DONE WITH IT".
END OF STORY.

The rest of this jibber jabber here in this forum
(as great and as interesting a forum it is) has no weight or substance or legal bearing in a court forum of law.
Of course, like most things in life patience is the key to true satisfaction.
Moreover, Since I have the LEGAL UPPER hand in the matter I don't have to tip it here whatsoever.

If someone wants to buy my DEVORE 928 Racer From This "person" go right ahead.
I assure anyone who thinks this is a "clean unchallenged sale for 14K" or any amount of money will regret in doing so.
LET THE BUYERS BEWARE AND USE GOOD SOUND LOGIC in jumping into this Legal Quagmire.
But if you want to

AO,
I wonder if we could draft up a contract stating that the spare engine and parts are included in the sale? That would ensure that the buyer gets everything that is promised. We even have an itemized list of all of the parts that were "dumped" to us. Some pretty cool things, turbos, ecu, gaskets etc.

If someone bought the 928 you would have to sue them to try and get the car back right? No Lawyer is going to take the case for less than a $2500-$5000 bill.
Why not offer the people who stored your 928 all these years $5000 and settle this mess?

Appears highly likely that the Jastperrandy and ExConCrim accounts are the same person. The "Nigerian" comment - the only reason for the use of the word has to be to imply fraud or dodginess. Its not like any normal person would mention the nationality of the shop owners as a relevant fact, and the probability of two strangers on an internet forum using the same descriptor is slim to none.
That and both accounts appear to have been created purely to serve this thread (cue random posts in other threads to validate the accounts!)
![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
In one corner, we have the seller, who has shown us a legal document from the California DMV which unequivocally establishes the right to sell the vehicle (it lists the VIN and interested parties).
![order](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/order.gif)
In the other corner we have a a heap of phone-camera-sourced twaddle that fails to define the "property" of Maverick Mann (seems to be a business name) under contest.
![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
My wild-assed guess from the other side of the planet is this thread is part of an attempt to put off potential buyers so that a settlement can be reached by Maverick and the shop owners for much less than the value of the work undertaken and not paid.

This is better than playing Cluedo!! ("Clue" in the USA I believe from my 'murican wife). I think it was the man with the plums who did it in the garage!

ZERO!
NOTHING!
YOU CAN'T GET PAID ON A JOB THAT WAS NEVER STARTED OR ANYTHING DONE.
No signed word order.
No contract.
Just talk about what he wanted to do and demands for a 50% deposit upfront.
This Nigerian Shop Owner Never did a damn thing to my car at all.
ABSOLUTELY Nothing.
And then when he decided he and his wife wanted to keep the car for himself he just "arrived at" an pie in the sky $21,000 "storage charge" for my car.
In essence, the Nigerian Shop Owner Wanted 50% of monies for a job that he never started much less completed any work.
They are not even licensed by the BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair) here in California as an official automotive business. (I did NOT know this until the BAR Investigated them in the matter)
The Law ONLY ALLOWS UNDER CALIFORNIA CIVIL CODE SECTION 3067-3075 http://codes.lp.findlaw.com/cacode/CIV/5/d3/4/14/6.5/s3068 A MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $1,250.00 FOR (so called) STORAGE FEES PERIOD. THAT'S IT!
This law is in place to protect California Consumers from such outlandish storage charges.
A shop can not just arbitrarily arrive at some out of the blue figure (in this case $21,000.00 for storage fees) with no basis or contract for the claim and it be valid.
They have been holding my car hostage for 2 years and if I knew where it was at I'd go get it.
But That's what the Sheriff does when a WRIT OF POSSESSION and a TRO has been granted by a Superior Court Judge.
This is "where I am on the issue" (as someone wanted to know) and of course, wouldn't you know it the moment I state clear facts from my side of the ledger it's dismissed as:

The seller's shop info was on CL ad prior to edit. I searched BAR to see if the shop/ seller was licensed. Its not so it's not a legal auto repair shop in CA.
The DMV lien sale is legit but if Court ruled the lien sale was illegal because the shop has no right to file a lien sale since it is not licensed to begin with, which constitute fraud, therefore the Court could award the car back to it's original owner.
If shop sells the "stolen car" then the law could seize the car from the new buyer leaving the seller with cash in hand and return the car to its legal owner. Story on bothside sounds plausible but the missing link make senses here. BTDT.

You get it completely Peter.
This Business Is a FRAUD as it has NO LICENSE to do Automotive Business In The State of California.
PERIOD!
(which I did NOT know at the time when I brought the car there for engine work)
This was told to me by BAR Investigator Kenneth Mott who did the investigation and experienced the same lies and run around and dodging and closing of their doors that I have and refusing to let the BAR Investigation into the matter proceed.
His Recommendation to the Judge was my car should be returned and that BISIMOTO had no lawful claim as they are UNLICENSED to run an Automotive Shop In California.
BISIMOTO ENGINEERING is NOT LICENSED to do Automotive Repairs!
Much less, charge $21,000 in arbitrary "Storage Fees" which the LAW IN CALIFORNIA IS VERY CLEAR ON AND DOES NOT ALLOW!
Of course, he feels "wronged somehow and just wants to be done with it" for doing ZERO WORK to my car and has done like most shady "so called" Automotive shops do; by conducting a UNLAWFUL LIEN SALE on the basis of this UNLAWFUL CLAIM AND "RIGHT" he thinks he has to charge me $21,000 IN ERRONEOUS STORAGE fees.
I have even offered the man what the law will allow but he has ignored my repeated calls and even failed to show up in a Court of Law to defend himself.
Now what more can I do to be reasonable?
Now he's trying to sell my car dodging and hiding from service and pass the buck on to someone else and this is why Legal Litigation to seek a TRO and WRIT OF POSSESSION was my only option as the harm WOULD further deprive me of the use of my 928 and could be irreparable.
Thanks Peter for your very thoughtful and logical insight on this matter.
