Not quite - there are more variations than that. Manual cars don't all have the oil cooler you pictured - manual GTS cars do. Not all autos have 2 coolers, some use just the side tank cooler.

Many have also modified the late model configuration where the engine oil cooling is in the single under rad air/oil cooler to add in the radiator side tank in series for similar reasons. Air/oil coolers only work with good airflow while an air/water (rad) cooler continues to cool in stop & go conditions and also help quickly get the oil up to a good working temp - not too hot or cold.

Just to make clear. All automatics use internal radiator cooler. Additional outside cooler was added in early eighties. First it was small thing low down in front of AC cooler. Later it was changed to long and narrow on top.

Manual cars do not ever use internal radiator heat exhanger for gearbox oil. Only manual gearbox version to use any cooler is '92-95 GTS whích use same long and narrow external setup as late automatics.

And then some early engines didn't have engine oil cooler at all while GT and GTS only use external engine oil cooler. There was also change done to radiator for early style visco fan surround vs later style electric fan pack mounting. Which means there are multible versions of radiators with just engine cooler, just gearbox cooler or both for early and late style fan setup. Porsche was world expert in making itself problems by using countless different combinations they have to cover from spare parts department.
