for 34,88 euro I got 2 sheets, good to make 2 hoses.
I started from this conditions:
here 's the new material vs old one::
first I removed by hand the terminal silicon parts:
Opened the foam where it was originall glued 22 years ago.
cut the foam about 66cm by 28-28,5cm , more or less the sizes of old foam:
removed the protective paper on the adhesive side and put on the iron spiral:
I rolled the foam around the spiral , at 1cm from the complete turn, I use som pattex/bostik glue, i put some on the edges, wait 10minutes to let dry some solvents and then I make edgeds to bond each other , and put a paper tape to prevent any movement "backwards".I work on 5 cms per time .
SO now I can put the terminal silicone plug on each end and let dry for 2-3 hpurs.
After I removed the paper tape and filled the juction with other glue, this time I used neoprenic glue, but vinylic is the same for this purpose.
I put again some paper tape on some points i thought they were not so close...
after 2-3 hours it is done.
Pictures again:
only one thing is missing: holes fpr Timing belt cover.but the most part is done and I hope this will last 15 yers or so.

Yep, poorly made....and i had to pursue the same poor method to obtain the stock look. Thank you for compliments.. Tonight I will take a picture of the engine bay with new hoses.
You did a very good job replicating the original look & construction - kudos!
Unfortunately I think even factory new GTS hoses look like crap. Its an authentic look alright - but I think they should never have made them (look) this way.
I do think the broken matting over your coils needed some attention first? - however it's likely the whole lot is quite brittle at this point - all mine was ready to fall apart.
I would suggest an experiment for the next person who does this: rather than reuse the old spiral inner guts of the intake tube get a couple of feet of CEET Tubing of the proper diameter as a replacement.
Saw a German guy doing that. 100 times more practical to renew. But I prefer to stay original 100 percent. If my renewal experiment will show weak points (apart from being poor like the original project) I will use ceet tubing method.

Maybe you missed my point?
I was suggesting to use the new outer material you found wrapped around CEEET tubing rather than reusing the old webbed spiral guts of the original. You would still end up with a stock look.
