Dan's buddy was Dan Ratliff. They made several trips to SITM and posted photos and blogs from their trips on their website.

Whoever won this auction is getting a very nice car. I had the chance to see the car in person on Sunday, and it's very nice. No rust with the exception of the one spot in the photo. Undercarriage is spotless. Dan has tons of spare parts and extras; he started going through his storage locker in front of the car and pulled out parts left and right during my visit. Dan is the real thing, as genuine as they come. Congrats to the winner! Now if I can only find an 89-91 GT myself....

Sorry - meant to say, Mike Ratliff. Dan and Mike - both great guys, down-to-earth and the real deal.

Nick, if you're looking for a GT, Mark has a '90 Black/linen GT that just came in. It's gonna be a nice car once Renee gets done with it.

This looks to be a great restore project, I hope that its as easy as putting in a new battery and adding some fresh fuel, along with the update maintenance.
Please post lots of pictures ,
I like the color of this car , good luck guys !

Looks like it will be great. We had a Cobalt S4 at a recent meet in the UK, lovely colour.

So the CL listing for the Velvet Red GT in Boston is still up. I thought for sure that a losing bidder for the Cobalt would be knocking on this guy's door. Has anyone inquired about this one? I'm picturing it with D-90s and that silly sticker relocated to the tool box or junior's bicycle helmet...

OH?
Yeah. I'll let Mark chime in once Renee is done detailing it, if she ever finishes.

So the Cobalt GT got a new battery and 5 gallons of gas, and fired right up after a 6 year nap. Makes the shipping process cheaper since she runs.

On a terrific note the Cobalt car now runs. I found a local service that installed a new battery and put 5 gallons of fresh gas in it. With any luck it will be headed to Ca in a few days.
