Default Dual disc clutch

What is a fair price for a low mileage dual disc clutch kit that includes 2 discs, pressure plate and release bearing these days?.

and intermediate plate. The intermediate plate is higher mileage, but held adjustment and shows no discoloration or uneven wear. Both discs measure 7.8 mm. Joe

$800 to $1200 - the two plates are $500, throw out bearing name your price, intermediate plate circa $800 and pressure plate $300.

Can you clarify the "name your price" on the TOB please, Roger?

Carl had a thread about rebuilding them a few days back.
Seemed to indicate that the TOB is NLA.

TOB is NLA. You can get a rebuilt unit from 928 Motorsports, my 83 is running one.

Is your 928 a '79? If so, had the clutch-pack been changed-over to the 80+ gear?

Many 78-79's not running the original clutch may have been changed up, but many may have not.

Worth checking before making a purchase.

FYI, upgrading is the best way to go, retrofitting is not. Replacing the 78-79 clutch with 78-79 is not bad either.

So what is the value of a new in box T/O bearing? Just curious, because I have one.

I paid $500 but it didn't include the intermediate plate and I think it was a good deal. However, worn disks can be relined and pressure plates cam be rebuilt for less than $500. The intermediate plate is where the money is.

The early TOB has been NLA for at least a year. WE all sell the rebuilt TOB but it requires you to have a useable case. Many cases get damaged and lose the slides on the side. The rebuild consists of the bearing and center sleeve which 928sRus sells for $150. Very easy to do - press out the old bearing and center sleeve and press in the new.

So the key factor is the useable case - the two slides on the outside diameter of the case being of most concern.

I had one customer last week so desperate for a complete TOB he was willing to pay $500. Sent him to 928 International who also have the complete rebuilt TOB.

I prefer to just sell the bearing and sleeve and not mess with all the cores and rebuilds.
